Bridgett and Drew got married in November of 2017 at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Callanwolde is a beautiful mansion located between Decatur and Atlanta and used to be one of the homes of the Candler family (makers of Coca-Cola). It has massive doors, beautiful stairways, and private gardens... In other words, it is one of the most sought-after venues in metro Atlanta. Bridgett started her hair and makeup at the Georgia Terrace hotel in downtown Atlanta. The Georgia Terrace has plenty of space, natural light, and beautiful architecture, so it made my job easy. We did our first looks at the hotel to insure that the bride and groom wouldn't accidentally see each other during the commute to the venue.. Soon after, we traveled to Callanwolde to finish our wedding party photos and family portraits. Everyone lined up for the ceremony while the groomsmen (and some guests) kept close watch on the score for the Georgia game (Georgia ended up losing the game to Auburn, however they went on to avenge the loss in the SEC Championship)... Bridgett was escorting down the aisle by her father while Drew smiled. The minister gave a wonder sermon about the highs and lows of marriage and even gave the couple a piece of his stole as a part of their wedding ceremony to keep. After the ceremony, we finished up the last few family photos and also the last photos of Bridgett and Drew together in the fading light.
The reception started with the first dances and things never slowed down from there... After speeches, the dance floor opened up and the crowd came out to party. I love it when everyone comes out to dance. We snuck out for a few quick night-time portraits after the garter and bouquet toss and before the last few songs of the evening. For their exit, they passed out pop-out stringers. The crowd covered them in ribbons and before I knew it, the camera (and myself) was almost tied to the couple while making the exit. We sorted ourselves out of the ribbons so that they could make their grand depart for their honeymoon that evening...
