This is me back in 1999. This was the trip that started my love of photography. That year I was given the chance to go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to China visit and tour the country with my grandparents. We visited Shanghai, Beijing, and Xian. I knew that I would want to document our trip, so I took my parents small point and shoot camera with me to take photos (in the bag around my neck). Looking back, I wish I would have taken more film for the trip. I had to be very selective about what I actually wanted to take photos of... I could only average taking around 8 photos a day if I wanted my film to last the entire trip. I I had the film developed once we got back in the states and I had these wonderful visual memories that could be revisited anytime I looked at the photos. It was my way of taking a small bit of China back to Georgia and sharing my experiences with friends and family back home. Looking at those photos made me remember not only the sights, but also the sounds and smells when the photos were taken. For me, the photos weren't just a visual representation of scene, but they were the visual representation of the experience... After that trip, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in photography... | |

Fast forward 18 years and here I am. I got a photo degree from UGA, got married, had a daughter, purchased our first home, and recently moved to Decatur, GA. I've photographed hundreds of sessions and weddings all over the Southeast and I've been fortunate enough to receive various recognitions and awards for my photography. During that time, I worked with various studios across the state and made quite a few friends in the photo industry. I can say that I truly love my job. Every day is a new adventure with the camera and I'm blessed that people allow me to capture special moments in their life. Every great photo tells a story and life is full of stories to tell. Let's start telling yours... |
