Mandy and Alex got married at Venue 92 in August of 2016. Venue 92 is a unique location in Woodstock, Ga with large windows, polished concrete, and a backyard garden. The venue can be found nestled between other buildings and businesses just off from the road. Because of this, you have to be very careful about the background of the images to make sure that distracting elements are either hidden or de-emphasized. Mandy and the rest of the bridal party got ready upstairs while the guys came in later. This is not uncommon since the bridal party can take significantly more time to get ready for the big day. We worked on detail shots first so that Mandy could get into her dress as soon as possible. We worked with the bridal party for their formals and then switched over to the guys photos. We finished up the rest of the formal photos prior to wedding so that everyone had plenty of time to freshen up and prepare for the ceremony. Everyone lined up and we got photos of both Mandy and Alex fighting back tears upon seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day. After the ceremony, we finished the final family and wedding party photos before working with just the bride and groom together. We used all of the spots around Venue 92 and even walked across the street to capture some different looks. One of my favorite photos from the day was when the two were holding hands across the street and I hid the Wendy's sign behind the bride to create a seemingly natural backdrop. After we finished the couple's portraits we got back inside to start the reception. Mandy and Alex started it off right with an emotional first dance. I love seeing tears on the dance floor. After dinner, the dance floor opened and friends and family did not disappoint. We snuck outside for a couple of night-time portraits before the night had to end. Everyone lined up on the side of Venue 92 to send the couple off in an aisle way of sparklers.
