Sonia and Kevin got married at the Atrium in October of 2017. The Atrium is a intimate and beautiful venue located in Norcross, GA. It's known for its glass and concrete indoor space along with the gardens just outside from the reception hall. Sonia and the rest of the bridesmaids got ready off-site in their hotel room for hair and makeup. While there, Sonia gifted each of her bridesmaids with a beautiful necklace with a peal pendant. After everyone was dressed and ready, we went to nearby Thrasher Park to meet up with Kevin for the first look. I love the little moments that are shared during the first look. We took a few photos in the park before traveling over to the Atrium for the wedding. We were able to do all of the wedding party photos along with most of the family photos prior to the ceremony. After finishing the formals, the guys went upstairs to watch football while the bridal party freshened up hair and makeup. Once all the guest arrived for the ceremony, the wedding party lined up for the processional.
The light was falling fast, so I had to set up some strobes to fill in some of the shadows during the ceremony. After the ring exchange, both Sonia and Kevin moved under the arbor for the unity candle. I loved the the soft glow from the lights in the arbor and how it made the crowd disappear into the night. As hard as outdoor night-time ceremonies can be, shots like those make it worth the effort. After the ceremony, we took a few extended family photos and a few more of the wedding party and couple. I loved the soft glow created in the gardens by the string-lights throughout. After finishing the portraits, the couple was introduced to the reception for the first dance. It was then that I found out that Sonia was a professional dancer. What do you do if your wife is professional dancer and all eyes are on you? You rise to the occasion! I loved their first dance. Soon after the cake cutting, the dance floor opened and I quickly found out the Sonia was not the only professional dancer there... Many of her friends were also dancers or dance instructors. I think that everyone had fun on the dance floor that night. Before I knew it, the night was coming to an end and everyone lined up for the sparkler exit. The crowd cheered and cheered for the newlyweds as they made their way through for their exit...
