Heather and Bill’s wedding at Ashton Gardens was one of my last weddings of 2016. Ashton Gardens is in Sugar Hill, Georgia and it has a beautiful indoor chapel space for the wedding… We started with detail shots and photos of Heather and her bridal party getting ready in the bridal suite. I then checked on Bill getting his boutonniere pinned on before the first look. My favorite outdoor space at Ashton Gardens is the columns leading from the chapel to the reception hall. I set Bill out at the columns and then brought out Heather for the first look. They were perfect with each other even though the rain started to fall during the first look. We did a few photos outside before escaping from the weather inside the chapel. Bill took the time alone to say a quick prayer with his future-wife before friends and family joined them for photos. We were able to finish up all of the pre-wedding formals before Heather went back into her bridal suite to wait for the start of the ceremony. While inside, her bridesmaids surrounded her with each saying a special prayer for her. The ceremony was beautiful with parts being in both English and Spanish. After one last prayer, they sealed their vows with a kiss and came back down the aisle for hi-fives with guest coming out of the chapel. Since the sun set outside during their ceremony, we stayed around the chapel to create some different photos that we weren’t able to do earlier in the day. They transitioned to the reception and started with a prayer before doing the cake cutting and toasts. Their reception was very low-key with lots of friends and family sharing hugs and laughter with the newlyweds. Before long, it was time for the sparkler exit. The guests lined up one more time as they exited back out from the columns where we started the day with the first look. They shared one last kiss for the camera before driving off that night…
