Erica and Jason got married at Spring Lake Events in May of 2017. Spring Lake Events is one of those beautiful wedding venues that is found in the middle of nowhere. The best part about having the venue away from everything else is that it opens up more opportunities for photos from every angle. I don't have to worry about random elements in the background that can ruin a great image (such as parking lots and powerlines). Their wedding was absolutely perfect... The weather was great, the light was great, the family was great, and the friends were fun. You know it's a special event when the bride comes to the ceremony on a horse-drawn carriage....
I don't know about their indoor ceremonies, however the outdoor ceremony space for Spring Lakes has a little bit of everything... A lake, a canoe, a mountain, an arbor and beautiful trees. It was hard to find a bad spot for photos there. After the ceremony, we finished the final portraits before going into the reception. The first dances were beautiful in the late afternoon light... Did I mention a canoe earlier? Yep, Erica and Jason went out in the middle of the lake for a quick canoe ride before the reception got too wild. I loved the father-of-the bride's toast during the reception. The entire family came up to sing her a song filled with lots of laughter. Since Spring Lakes has so much space around it, I knew that we could have a good sunset opportunity there since we could see so much horizon. I took the couple down by the lake for a couple of quick photos both with and without flash to create some unique images that can not be captured at most locations. The reception really got started after that with friends and family letting loose on the dance floor. They partied the night away all the way until the sparkler exit when Erica and Jason got into their getaway car for the night...
