Dana and Jimmy got married at the McDaniel-Tichenor House in September of 2017. The McDaniel-Tichenor house is located in Monroe, Ga (between Athens and Atlanta). Like most other antebellum style venues, it offers plenty of space inside for the wedding party to get ready with beautiful spaces outside for the ceremony. I started on detail shots before the wedding party arrived at the venue. Both the bridesmaids and groomsmen got ready upstairs in separate rooms. Since the guys got ready first, we did their photos in front of the house prior to the ceremony. After finishing the grooms portraits, I headed back upstairs to continue documenting the bridal party getting ready. The couple's son, Lucas even came upstairs to show his mom (and the rest of the bridal party) how good he looked in his suit and shoes. The bridal party got ready a little while later, however we opted to save their formal portraits for after the ceremony since guests were starting to arrive and we wanted to minimize the chances of people seeing Dana.

The ceremony took place in the gardens behind the house with plenty of friends and family in attendance. Lucas watched the ceremony from the crowd. After the I do's and the kiss, the wedding party exited to the front of the house where we worked on photos of family, the full wedding party, and the couple together. After the formals, everyone lined up for the introductions to the reception. The reception officially started with the first dance followed by the parent dances. After dinner, the couple made their rounds to talk to everyone at the reception. After they had a chance to talk to everybody, Dana and Jimmy cut the cake before the dance floor officially opened. I think everyone was excited to get out and show their moves. The garter and bouquet toss signaled that the night was coming to an end. Jimmy and Dana shared one last dance on the dance floor while the guest lined up for the sparkler exit. After running through the line of sparklers, the couple drove off into the night...
